The ex-staff of GN Bank have extended their heartfelt congratulations to President-elect John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for their landslide victory in the 2024 elections.
They stated that, the win signifies the electorate’s thirst for change and assured the group’s willingness to contribute their expertise toward transforming the economy, especially in the financial sector.
“We acknowledge the significant challenges faced by our nation due to the 2019 banking crisis, which had devastating effects on millions of Ghanaians,” a statement signed by Mr. Philip Sarpiah, Convener of the group, and copied to the Ghana News Agency, said.
The statement added that, the government’s actions during the crisis had left a deep and lasting impact on Ghana’s financial landscape.
The group expressed encouragement by Mr. Mahama’s commitment to restoring indigenous financial institutions that had collapsed.
The statement highlighted that the NDC’s promise to revive GN (Savings) Bank and some of the defunct banks, along with several savings and loans institutions and fund management companies, resonates deeply with their aspirations for economic recovery and stability. The group eagerly looks forward to seeing this promise become a reality.
