The Youth Wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has sought spiritual blessings from the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, following the party’s resounding victory in the 2024 elections.
The event formed part of the NDC’s Thanksgiving Service series, with the first phase held at the Kawukudi Central Mosque in Accra.
Members of the NDC Youth Wing joined the Chief Imam in prayers of gratitude, invoking guidance for the party’s leadership and success in their governance.
Addressing the media after the service, George Opare Addo emphasized the peaceful conduct of the NDC Youth Wing during and after the elections.
He stated, “Nobody from the NDC has gone out to cause any distraction.” This remark sought to distance the wing from any allegations of post-election violence.
Opare Addo also condemned recent reports of alleged looting of government assets by some individuals purported to be affiliated with the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He described such actions as unpatriotic and urged all citizens to respect the democratic process and the smooth transition of power.
The NDC Youth Wing’s Thanksgiving Services are a demonstration of the party’s commitment to fostering unity, peace, and gratitude following their historic win.
